“ Struggle has always been around my family for a long as I can remember. It’s time we speak up and do something ”
100 Families WA aims to gain a deep understanding of entrenched disadvantage in Western Australia by investigating alongside families their lived experience of this issue. Importantly, this project will find out what helps and what hinders people from breaking free from the cycle of disadvantage.
100 Families WA is committed to supporting improvements to the systems that impact people living with entrenched disadvantage. By engaging key stakeholders and decision makers within the sector we hope to offer clear paths to improved ways of addressing this significant issue.
Defeating Entrenched Disadvantage
By providing a strong evidence base on entrenched disadvantage, the policy and practice community in Western Australia will be better equipped to respond to the needs of those being impacted by it.
Lived expertise will guide and shape this project throughout its lifespan and beyond. The importance of this we understand to be critical and will be achieved by regularly employing co-design strategies, including; engaging and learning from families who choose to participate, working alongside the projects own Community Advisory Group, and through an ongoing series of Community Conversation workshops.
